Did someone say… movie night?? We’ve been craving a serious movie marathon & cuddle sesh with the pups while downing some popcorn and M&M’s in the comfort of our own home. Because we figured your friends at FurHaven might not be the only ones feeling this way, we've put together a list of our top ten favorite movies about pets!

"The Secret Life of Pets" (2016)

The quiet life of a terrier named Max is upended when his owner takes in Duke, a stray whom Max instantly dislikes. (PG)

This animated film is so lighthearted, sweet, and FUNNY! Your heart will explode exploring the friendships of all these furry companions.

"Marley & Me" (2008)

Although this film is rated PG, the themes in it are definitely a bit mature and for a more adult audience. If you’re in the mood for your heart strings to tug and shed a few (or a lot) of tears… press play & get your tissues out. Seriously... you'll need them. 

"A Dog's Purpose" (2017)

Narrated by the star pup of the movie, this film exploring purpose throughout a dog’s life will have your insides feeling all warm.

"Lady and the Tramp" (2019)

It’s no secret that Lady & The Tramp is a classic, but have you seen the new one?? It’s definitely worth the watch! Or if you want to be nostalgic, you can always stick to the original. We love both!

"Because of Winn-Dixie" (2005)

Who doesn’t love a story about a finding an unlikely best friend? Not only is this film sweet and teaches life lessons, it’s pretty relatable to us pet owners.

"Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey" (1993)

Every pair of pups needs a sassy cat in their squad! The whole family will fall in love with this adventurous trio of friends. Needless to say, it's another timeless classic. 

"Hachi: A Dog's Tail" (2009)

There are many reasons this is such a beautiful movie, but perhaps the main reason is that it's based on a true story. Japan, the home of Hachiko, honors this pup as a national hero and even has a statue dedicated to him. To understand why, well... you'll just have to watch. As heartwarming as it is, you'll definitely need a stash of tissues.

"All Dogs Go to Heaven" (1989)

A canine angel, Charlie, sneaks back to earth from heaven but ends up befriending an orphan girl who can speak to animals. In the process, Charlie learns that friendship is the most heavenly gift of all. (G)

"All Dogs Go to Heaven" is such a heartwarming tale about friendship. This children's classic is great for adults too- it could serve as a nostalgic blast from the past if you haven't seen it in quite a while! 

"Turner & Hooch" (1989)

Who doesn't love a good buddy cop movie with a man & his unlikely best friend together as sidekicks? This family comedy will have you laughing, and inevitably so, maybe crying just a little.

"Beethoven" (1992)
